The YWCA of the Philippines in observance of the Week Without Violence, October 15-21, 2006, will be holding an On-the Spot, Pencil Sketching Contest open to young women in all Local Associations. The theme for the contest is “Love Without Violence”.

The activity shall provide young women a venue through which to discover and develop meaningful expressions of fear, hope, beliefs and ideas on violence and’ love without violence’.

All local associations are encouraged to organize a Pencil Sketching Contest and select a winning entry for the national search of Exemplary Pencil sketch.

Judging criteria:

  • Choice of Message (Lakas ng Mensahe)
  • Visual Appeal (Kaakit-akit)
  • Emotional Impact (Gumigising ng Damdamin)
  • Artistic Value (Kahalagahan ng Sining)
  • Value for Advocacy (Mapanghikayat)

Rules:

  1. The contest shall take place on any day during the third week of October
  2. The local association shall be deemed enrolled when the schedule of the pencil sketch is received by YWCA of the Philippines. But this should not be later than October 7, 2006
  3. All contestants shall be bonafide members of the YWCA/Y-teens or Student Y of YWCA partner schools between the ages 13-19 years old.
  4. Only everyday pencil can be used and sketches shall be made on an 8.5 x 11” sketch pad.
  5. The notice for the contest will be posted/published one week before the contest date.
  6. The local association will select five (5) winners, ranking is not necessary, to be entered in the national search.
