none Ensuring Women’s Representation in Decision Making
5th July Breakout Sessions

If women make up half the world’s population and people living with HIV, why are they consistently underrepresented in the leadership of governments, business and key organisations responding to HIV and AIDS? This session explores strategies for ensuring women’s representation in leadership, including key decisions related to effective strategies and use of resources for the AIDS response. As we see how YWCA are preparing women for decision making in all spheres we question how UN agencies and NGOs are seeking to create more space for women in leadership. The session also looks at positive women’s leadership in Africa, and what’s needed to ensure equitable representation at all levels.
