none Africa Partnership Safari Debriefing
The African Partnership Safari Debriefing takes place on July 2 from 09.00 - 15.30 at the Kenyatta International Conference Center. All participants of the African Partnership Safari and their hosts are invited to attend the debriefing session.

The World YWCA African Partnership Safari is a 3-day exchange trip that offers participants an opportunity to experience the local realities of African YWCAs, particularly in the context of HIV and AIDS. The Partnership Safari will strengthen national associations, empower leadership within associations, showcase YWCA's ability to mobilise the movement and change lives and communities for the better.

The African Partnership Safari is an opportunity to build sustainable partnerships that will develop new collaborative initiatives. Participants and hosts will meet in Nairobi to share their experiences and prepare a work-plan for future partnerships.

The objectives of this pre-council visit are:

  • To expose participants to the local realities of Africa and build a better understanding of the challenges they face and the solutions implemented, particularly in the context of the HIV and AIDS epidemic
  • To encourage mutual learning by providing an open space for honest dialogue of common concerns with respect for diversity
  • To encourage respectful and sustainable partnerships, skills exchange and sharing of experiences

Expected Outcomes
  • Collective report on the Partnership Safari experiences and findings
  • Proposal for the development of a plan-of-action for continued YWCA partnerships and exchanges

A report on the Partnership Safaris and proposed follow-up will be presented to the World Council plenary.
