The World YWCA Council and International Women’s Summit were unprecedented in many ways. Over 80% of the YWCA movement was present for the World YWCA Council, with over 100 nationalities representing close to 95 associations, while the International Women’s Summit brought together women from every rung of society for the first ever international conference on women and AIDS. Through pictures, quotes and articles, this special edition of Common Concern reports on the outcomes, successes and highlights of the eleven-day meeting.
