The World YWCA Funraising Coordinator is entrusted to coordinate an effective donor relations management programme including research, analysis, communications and recognition. The Fundraising Coordinator will expand the number of individual donors supporting the work of the World YWCA as well as resource fundraising capacity building within the YWCA movement. The Fundraising coordinator supports and resources the cultivation and solicitation of major donors and provides timely reports on progress towards fundraising targets.
Position Objectives:

- To support and resource the cultivation and solicitation of major donors
- To provide timely reports on progress towards fundraising targets
Job Qualifications:
- A university degree or equivalent
- Education, training and/or experience in fundraising with a sound understanding of techniques associated with direct mail appeals and endowment campaigns
- Experience in managing donor relations, including record keeping, analysis, communications and recognition processes
- Strategic written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interpret and communicate the fundraising objectives of the World YWCA to donors, prospective donors, volunteers and staff
- Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to develop training and resource materials
- English, and preferably a working knowledge of French or Spanish
- Excellent computer skills, including management and use of an electronic database and spreadsheets such as Microsoft Access and Excel
- Commitment to the vision and purpose of the World YWCA, and the ability to articulate this vision to a wide variety of audiences
- Proven ability to work with international staff and volunteer teams to achieve the goals of the World YWCA
- Sensitivity to cultural and religious issues, and a demonstrated knowledge of intercultural communication
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly reports and analysis on gifts and pledges, including progress reports against fundraising goals
- Co-ordinate the World YWCA’s core support appeal, Friends of World YWCA, including development of annual plan and schedule of communications, solicitation by direct mail appeal, analysis of annual giving activity and developing strategies for donor segmentation and increasing giving levels
- Review and strengthen donor and prospective donor communications and recognition policies and procedures, and work inter-departmentally to ensure effective management of major donors
- Research and evaluate new prospective donors
- Prepare proposals and presentations for donor prospects, and assist in the development of cultivation and solicitation strategies
- Ensure an effective donor database and filing system with up to date records of all donors and prospective donors
- Develop fundraising capacity building and campaign modules and resources for regional training institutes and other events
- Develop and implement a strategy to actively involve Connect Net members in fundraising efforts
- Explore and develop new areas for World YWCA fundraising, such as planned giving
- Maintain an awareness of donor management trends and procedures of charitable institutions and other non government organizations
- Perform other tasks as requested, including assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of World YWCA events
