International Awards for Young women and young researchers
The International AIDS Society and partners have established awards recognizing young scientists involved in innovative HIV and AIDS research throughout the world at the International AIDS Conference

There are 3 different awards this year:

 

The Young Investigator Prize: Women, Girls and HIV and AIDS

This prize will be awarded to a young woman investigator from a resource-limited setting whose abstract most demonstrates excellence in research and (or) practice that address women, girls and gender issues related to HIV and AIDS.

To be eligible:

  • The presenting author of an abstract must be a woman
  • The presenting author must come from a low or middle income country (according to the World Bank classification)
  • She must be less than 35 years old on August 3, 2008
 

The award of USD 3000 will be awarded by the International AIDS Society (IAS) and International Center for Research on Women (ICRW), and supported by the International Community of Women Living with HIV and AIDS (ICW).

IAS Young Investigator Award

The IAS will present the Young Investigator Award in each track to encourage young researches.

To be eligible:

  • The presenting author of an abstract must be less than 35 years old on August 3, 2008.

ANRS/IAS Prize

IAS together with the Agence Nationale de Recherche sur le SIDA (ANRS) are granting the ANRS/IAS Prize. The prize supports young researchers who demonstrate excellence in the area of research programmes related to the scale up of prevention and treatment interventions in resource-limited settings.

To be eligible:

  • The presenting authors of an abstract must be less than 35 years old on August 3, 2008
  • The presenting authors must be a citizen of a low or middle income country (according to the World Bank classification).
  • The research must have been carried out in a low or middle income country and must, directly or indirectly, be related to increasing access to prevention and (or) treatment in resource-constrained settings.
 

A prize of USD 3000 will be given to the highest scoring abstract which meets the above criteria for each of the conference tracks.
