Along with her dedication and commitment to the YWCA, she was the only woman in Myanmar who headed a Peace Mission when civil war broke out between the Myanmar Government and the ethnic resistance group during 1948 and 1949.
Following the civil war, she was elected to the cabinet and later appointed Minister for Karen affairs. Her YWCA experience includes National President of the YWCA of Myanmar, Chairperson and Executive Committee of the Mutual Service Committee and World YWCA Vice President in 1954. Her outstanding leadership, dedication and love towards the YWCA work has left a legacy of continuous growth for the YWCA of Myanmar to empower women and girls to reach their full potential.
