Through its Young Women’s Leadership Development Programme , the World YWCA provides regional and global training opportunities for young women leaders, as well as annual internships that expose young women to the workings of the United Nations and the YWCA movement. The World YWCA also ensures that young women have access to decision-making positions in the organisation in order to ‘practice’ their leadership through a minimum 25% representation quota. This quota also applies to participation in broader leadership training programmes for women, which include sub regional, regional and global training institutes that bring together women from around the world to develop skills and knowledge on particular themes.
Through its Resource Sharing Programme , the World YWCA also promotes exchanges among associations to develop leadership and share in specific areas. See more details and download current forms for the RSP programme.
Through its Women and Development Fund , the World YWCA provides small project grants to facilitate the empowerment of women at the local level.
Here is a selection of YWCA programmes within the regions of the world.
