Equipped with skills, knowledge and resources women can be a powerful force in changing lives and communities around them. This has been the guiding vision behind the YWCA’s worldwide campaign to expand the resources and opportunities for the leadership development of women and girls.

The fundraising campaign culminated at the World YWCA Council in 2007 with the launch of the Power to Change Fund; by July 2007 women and men from 89 countries had contributed USD 10.4 million to the fund. Now, interest generated from the fund will be used to expand the opportunities for women's leadership development at every level. The Power to Change Fund, will fund a range of innovative initiatives that reach women at different levels – local, national, regional and global – and will focus on developing and sustaining the leadership of women, including young women and girls.
