Women enjoy a wonderful meal at the Round-the-World Breakfast in Jordan, 2004
World YWCA Day 2007 will be a day of great celebration. For more than a hundred years this worldwide movement has been empowering dedicated, courageous women leaders who have helped to shape the history of our communities and our world. Join with thousands of women around the globe on April 24 during the Round-the-World Breakfast to remember our successes and look forward to achieving our vision of the future.

The Round-the-World Breakfast is an opportunity for every YWCA, around the world, to join together during 24 hours to celebrate the contributions of women leaders in YWCAs and communities.

There are three important goals for this year’s YWCA Round-the-World Breakfast:

  • To honour YWCA women who have made a difference in our lives-leaders, teachers, mentors, advisors, role models
  • To connect YWCAs around the world working towards a better world for all people
  • To financially contribute to The Power to Change, the permanent fund for leadership development for women and girls.

Follow the activities starting with YWCAs in Aeortora/New Zealand and throughout the day by visiting the World YWCA web site for reports coming in from celebrations around the world. The breakfast will end 24 hours later in Alaska and Hawaii in the western USA.

Designate someone from your YWCA to send an e-mail and photos to Caterina Lemp (caterina.lemp@worldywca.org) as your event is taking place.
