Friends of the World YWCA celebrate World YWCA Day with General Secretary Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda
Young women were honoured at the World YWCA when staff and friends gathered to celebrate World YWCA Day.

General Secretary Nyaradazayi Gumbonzvanda reflected on the contribution young women make to the YWCA movement and asked young staff members to share their experiences. “ I want to honour all the women working at local YWCAs —they do so much with so little, ‘ said Joy Yakabu, World YWCA intern from the YWCA of Nigeria.

Keeping with the theme ‘LISTEN to she who speaks: Women Leading Change’, special mention was made of two long serving staff Juliarty Masson and Mandy Nogarede who have worked for the World YWCA for 20 years respectively. Each shared a memorable moment from their time at the World YWCA. Guests and staff then shared fond memories of former staff Elizabeth Palmer, Elaine Carlson, Geneviève Jacques and many others.
