International World YWCA Programme Director visits the Caribbean
YWCA of Virgin Islands
The YWCA of US Virgin Islands will receive a visit from the World YWCA
Marie-Claude Julsaint, Programme Director for the Americas and Caribbean, will visit the YWCA of Grenada in May. The association is recovering from difficult times perpetuated by natural disasters.

"The hurricane destroyed the YWCA of Grenada’s building and the last few years they have had to dedicate their human and financial resources to re-establishing themselves,” says Julsaint. This is the first official World YWCA visit to YWCA of Grenada in 20 years.

Julsaint will also visit the YWCA of Puerto Rico and the YWCA of the US Virgin Islands, a developing group that recently celebrated the opening of their new office."As the Programme Director for the Americas and Caribbean region, I would like to listen to the YWCAs in the region in order to identify with them their needs in terms of support from the World Office. Some of the things I would like to accomplish while I am there are to visit local programmes, discuss with board members and the membership, including with young women of the association, and meet with local NGO and government partners," says Julsaint.
