With a three-day mourning period in place, the YWCA of Myanmar is assisting with humanitarian efforts on the ground. “We are helping people with the donations which we have received. Presently, we can help about 1000 people,” says Daw Aye Kywe, General Secretary of the YWCA of Myanmar.

Staff and volunteers of the YWCA of Myanmar are also working in Yangon with the street children who are in desperate need of aid. “They especially need help with daily food, drinking water, shelter, clothes and medicine. We are helping as much as we can,” says Kywe.

The World YWCA continues to be in contact with the YWCA of Myanmar and will report to the movement as updates come to hand.
