Celebrations in St. Thomas began on Sunday, November 8, 2009 with the opening service at Memorial Moravian Church and a daily reflection will be read on the Methodist Radio station WTJC and WGOD.

The week culminates with a Youth Rally at Emancipation Garden on Saturday, November 14, 2009 and there will be lots of fun and entertainment throughout the day including a Fish Fry, BBQ and Snack Sale.

“The World YWCA and the World Alliance of YMCAs have issued a joint call to prayer in the second week of November. This year’s theme “Striving for Global Citizenship for All’ presents an opportunity for us to reflect on what makes good citizens, and how our contribution as individuals and a movement can create a safe and secure world, “ says YWCA of Virgin Islands President Donnalie Edwards-Cabey.
