Jacqueline Mukamusana and Pudentienne Uzamukunda, Executive Secretary and President YWCA Rwanda respectively, presented a contribution of USD 730 to Dr. Musimibi Kanyoro, General Secretary, World YWCA on August 26th, 2006 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Each member of the 1,000 member strong association has committed to contribute one dollar (US) towards the World Council.

One dollar is worth about 600 Rwandan francs and can buy one kilo of sugar, 5 kilos of potatoes, 1kg of rice, or a bottle of beer. The Rwandese commitment to supporting girls and young women is evident through their sacrificial giving - the dollar contribution, in addition to the annual member fee, is significant to the women of Rwanda. Earlier in the year they presented USD 200 and now presented a further USD 730.

Jacky Mukamusana made an appeal in her presentation – for mentorship. As a young association founded in 1995, she explained they needed – and longed for – meaningful mentoring from sister association particular neighboring ones. Attaining legal recognition in 2005, they are an active association with programs in HIV and AIDS, education and economic resilience through entrepreneurship. Their goal, she said, was to be the most effective and strongest association in Africa.
