International Stronger together, says new World YWCA Programme Director for Europe
Kristin Roaldseth Moyer, World YWCA Programme Director for Europe
World YWCA has welcomed Kristin Roaldseth Moyer as the new Programme Director for Europe. Moyer has spent most of her professional life working with faith based humanitarian organisations and is excited about her new role at World YWCA.

“World YWCA is an old organisation that has managed to stay young. They work to empower women to meet the challenges of every new time. I feel very privileged to be part of this circle of women who uplift and empower each other,” says Moyer.

Moyer spent 10 years with Norwegian Church Aid where she held various positions including Director for Europe and Regional Representative for Central America. “I then came to Geneva where I worked with the Lutheran World Federation for 10 years as Secretary for Human Resources Development. This is a global desk that works with all the regions in the world providing education and training for young people in member churches with the aim of empowering and strengthening local churches.”

During her work life, Moyer has worked with many inspirational and strong women. “Working with women’s organisations and individual women has been a very enriching experience. World YWCA appeals to me as working with a common purpose inspired by a common faith gives a feeling of identity and belonging, “ reflects Moyer. “It is also inspiring that there are women and young women of different ages. Young people bring a lot of energy and optimism into the movement.”

Her vision for the European Region is that member associations will work, encourage and strengthen each other. I hope that the Europe Region will be a region where individual women and individual associations are conscious of not being alone, but knowing that we all have something to learn and something to give, and that we are a stronger voice when we stand together.”

Moyer is a member of the English Speaking Lutheran Church in Geneva and enjoys hiking in the mountains, reading and gardening.
