The World YWCA reaches 25 million women and girls in 125 countries. The vision of the World YWCA is of a fully inclusive world where justice, peace, health, human dignity, freedom and care for the environment are promoted and sustained through women's leadership.

The Young Women’s Christian Association of Kenya was founded in 1912 and affiliated to the World YWCA in 1918. It has 20,000 members and seven local branches. Its programmes seek to uplift the living standards of girls and women and build the capacity of women and girls to take up leadership in their communities and at the national level.
