Speakers will address the organizing efforts of women as they advocated to establish important international milestones like the United Nation's Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, African Protocol on Women's Rights, Security Council Resolution 1325, Beijing Platform for Action, and Women's Action Agenda 21, will be featured. They will also explore the potential of these international conventions and policies as tools for social change, and highlight how they can be used to bring about real progress on the ground. Alda Facio, Peggy Antrobus and Mònica Muñoz-Vargas will be among the faculty.
