The World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement that brings Christians of many traditions together to observe a common day of prayer each year.
Written by the women of Papua New Guinea, the 2009 World Day of Prayer worship service will focus on the theme “In Christ there are many Members yet one Body”. Prayer will begin at the first sunrise of March 6, 2009, and will continue until the last sunset. The 2009 service will focus on PNG’s women and children's concerns as their communities struggle to maintain their history and culture in an ever-changing world.
