‘Honouring Women Leaders’ was established to honour, on an on-going basis, exceptional and exemplary leaders in the YWCA movement who have made a difference in their community. ‘Honouring Women Leaders’ has helped support the Power to Change Fund, which was officially launched at World YWCA Council in Kenya in 2007.
How to honour a woman
This programme helps support the Power to Change Fund that funds YWCA programmes for women and girls in perpetuity. Honour a woman leader, include young women leaders in your community by submitting their name to the 'Honouring Women Leaders' programme. For every woman you recognise, we ask that you donate to the Power to Change Fund in her honour or memory. There is no limit to the number of leaders who can be honoured nor is there a specific donation level, but we encourage you to set a challenging goal that is consistent with the leadership that this woman has provided.
