The meeting will take place at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. This great centre offers world-class facilities, is located within easy walking distance of hotels and frequently hosts major global meetings such as the World Social Forum planned for February 2007. It was the venue of the 1985 UN Women’s Decade meeting where the Nairobi forward-looking strategies were adopted and 20,000 government and NGO participants attended.

Nairobi is the capital city and Kenya’s principal economic administrative and cultural centre, with a population of 3.5 million. It is one of the largest cities in Africa with many attractions including international restaurants, colourful open air markets, shopping malls and the nearby NairobiNational Park with plenty of wild life.

Nairobi is the hub for Kenya Airways and is a destination or transit for many international airlines from the rest of Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe, including such airline partners as One World, Miles and More, Star Alliance.

Accommodation: Special accommodation rates to fit every budget have been negotiated with specific hotels for conference participants. Prices range US$30 – US$160 per night per person.
